Description

My name is Darren Danley. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mineral Processing Engineering in the PNG University of Technology in year 2016. I have experiences in Supervisory and Process Technician roles in Food and Mining Industries respectively. I also have experiences in small scale alluvial mining and gold prospecting in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville. I am a man of few words, I always believe in action rather than talking. I am very slow to anger, I listen and try to understand people first before making decisions. I am outgoing and very enthusiastic about my goals and plan in what I do. I do not hesitate in taking calculated risks, I believe that taking risks brings success, at the same time if I fail I will learn more. I do not give up easily on my dreams, once I set my mind on achieving something, I will do everything I can to achieve it, no matter how long or how hard it will take for me to achieve it.

I was the youngest Production Shift Supervisor in my time at a food processing company which I experienced many challenges, however I never gave up on my responsibility as the leader, motivator, example and enthusiast of my team, that saw my team set the highest record in safe and quality production in the company. I also took the risk of leading a small group of youths in the Autonomous Region of Bougainville to venture into some of the remote parts of Bougainville to educate locals on the safe handling and usage of chemicals, improvements on their small scale Mining techniques, and gold prospecting prioritizing on safety. Even though I did not succeed in my small business, I managed to educate at the same time learn from the locals. This has broaden my knowledge in small scale alluvial mining and geology, communication and negotiations and team management. Finally, with my ability to do research and Implementation, I am always willing to take on new challenges and tasks, knowing that with this ability, I will get the job done.
